Monday Musings
Language Arts - Today we continued to compose stories using computers. I 'm impressed with the quality and quantity of the writing by the students using this method. They don't seem to mind writing more, or making revisions. We continued to use the keyboarding program to help students to become more efficient with their writing.
Math - We began an activity involving relating multiplication and division as operations. We will continue to work in groups to solve problems tomorrow.

Thursdays Thrilling Thinking
Language Arts - Students worked hard on getting their stories composed using computers today. We even had some time to practice a bit of keyboarding. I had the students print what they have so far. It would be great if you could review their work with them and help them revise their plans so we can complete this next week.
Math 5 - We started looking at how to practically divide numbers into groups. No assignment for Monday.
Reminder of Crazy Hat Day tomorrow!!!

Monday
Language Arts 5 - We took up the questions from the story and began the process of planning our own stories from using the Setup - Problem - Solution framework. We will continue this tomorrow.
Math 5 - We took up and discussed the work assigned from last Thursday. We had a lively discussion and had many interesting and creative examples generated from the students. No homework assigned tonight.
Arrow orders went home with a deadline of January 25th for them to come in and we are responsible for providing cupcakes for the sale on Wednesday.
I think the Friends of St. Joseph family bingo set for this Friday are still looking for prizes so if you have something to contribute just bring it to the office before Friday.
